About Solar

There are basically three major types of Solar Power Plants: On-Grid, Off-Grid, and Hybrid. All these solar power systems are different from each other based on their features and specifications, whereas all solar power plants function on the same principle.

Off-Grid Solar Power Plant
This solar plant system is independent of utility grids and collects all the unused extra power in battery banks. It is usually installed in areas that have regular power outages or low sunlight.
The battery banks offer backup power throughout such hours. The availability of a solar inverter permits this system to convert DC (Direct Current) arriving from the batteries into AC (Alternating Current).
Recommended for:If you don't have an electricity connection or a dependable grid and you want to store electricity.

On-Grid Solar Power Plant
This is the most popular Solar PV module primarily installed in industrial and residential areas that have consistent power supply from the utility grid.
The On-Grid solar power plant will automatically send excess power to the grid when solar panels are overproducing. You will get credited later through the net metering system by the Indian Govt.
Subsidy is also provided by the government for domestic on-grid projects under the scheme PM Surya Ghar. SSF Constructions is an empanelled vendor in this scheme.

Hybrid Solar Plant
Hybrid systems are dependent on the grid and can also accumulate extra electricity in a storage unit. The extra energy produced is transferred to the battery bank. Once fully charged, they can export the extra energy to the grid.
These systems deliver the functionality of both off-grid and grid-tied systems. They are a more stable, secure and cost-effective way for power generation as blackouts don't hamper their yield or supply.
Best suited for:Agricultural sector, residential applications, micro-grids, rural areas and offices.

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a government scheme that aims to provide free electricity to households in India. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 15, 2024.

Under the scheme, households will be provided with a subsidy to install solar panels on their roofs. The subsidy will cover up to 40% of the cost of the solar panels. The scheme is expected to benefit 1 crore households across India. It is estimated that the scheme will save the government Rs. 75,000 crore per year in electricity costs.
